Edit: I made a reservation and went back to try this place again in good faith of the manager replying to my first review below. This time, the food was good but the service was still disappointing. We got the same waitress who served us the first time and she was very rude to us, the lady at the door ignored my friends and I, we didn't get our reserved seating and the only one who actually helped us was the lady behind the bar so we made sure we tipped her good. We notified the supervisor of what happened and I guess we'll make another reservation and hope the third time's a charm...

Good food was very tasty. Portions were slightly small for the price. Waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Will continue to head down the street to cactus club for my meeting spot.

Pretty much the best Joey's in town. Great atmosphere, basically everyone has a good time. Consistently excellent service and great food. Good beers on tap. I prefer to know some beers before I get somewhere, so for anyone wondering, as of this writing I'm having Last Best IPA and Parallel 49 'wobbly pop' pale. Tool Shed, Okanagan Springs and Goose Island also on tap.

All together: the restaurant was almost too loud to talk in, our waitress tried her best and the price was too high for the lack of quality control. We recommend going somewhere else as this was an experience we hope you won't have to relive.

Fantastic service, a great bar, and food to die for. Can't recommend the steak and sushi enough, fantastic meal. As a guy who likes his steak blue rare, it is exeedingly difficult finding a restaurant that properly prepares a blue rare steak. Joey's does it every time, without fail. Forget Chop, you ask for blue rare there and they give you medium rare at best. Joey's is the goat for a good steak, a tall glass, and a fine dining experience.

It is truly disappointing, Joey's Barlow used to be hands down one of the best restaurants of that caliber in the NE of Calgary.

My friend decided on a rotisserie chicken dish which I thought looked good but he immediately spit out his first bite because the staff doesn't string their peas. Needless to say, he did not eat those & his chicken ended up being tender but super bland.

A friend and I went here for the first time the other night and were highly disappointed. We asked for no cilantro on our flatbread appetizer and we got: cilantro. The waitress did bring us a new one eventually but she still billed us for their mistake in the end.

Place has really gone down hill. Seems like the three times I have been there in the past few months the lounge servers are more focused on hanging out with the staff that is off and are sitting in the lounge then preforming their job. Watching the server and the manager laugh, giggle, and tell story's while my drinks are poured and sitting at the bar for more the two minutes. Is extremely frustrating. I should never have to turn to the person I am with and say "maybe I should just go grab our drinks from the bar"

I was a bit surprised because I had the ravioli with lobster and mine was definitely seasoned well. After the main meal, we opted out of dessert because my friend just wanted to leave. To top off his already pleasant mood - on the way out, a different waitress ran into him with a tray of drinks and didn't apologize.

Knowing this industry the late night crew is extremely unprofessional. It has happened on each visit I have had. Has to be a culture thing not an individual employee issue. Seems like that is just the attitude of Joey's Barlow.
