  The minute your retainer runs out you will not get so much as an email, let alone a phone call. I think if you have the money up front they would do an adequate job but I'm still in the middle of my divorce so the advice given to me might not be good advice! Tammy the family lawyer phoned me and was quite adamant about not doing a thing until money is always up front.

  I was referred to Thornborough Smeltz through a friend. My experience has to do with the Family side of the law practice. I did have to trust their ability/skill in law and take a step back a few times when I felt my situation was not moving the way I thought it should. I continue to appreciate their services and will use them for other areas besides divorce or child custody issues.

  Hired Thornborough Smeltz to assist with an adoption and would have been better off completing the process on our own. After the initial 30 minute meeting and first couple weeks it was next to impossible to get a response from them. In the end we ended up dealing direct with the Courts to complete the adoption as the lawyers continually ignored us and missed completing multiple steps of the process. Not to mention falsely informed us that they had sent documents in, when in fact they had been misplaced in their office. What could have been a couple month process is now almost 8 months. What a head-ache and stressful situation for something that is supposed to be an exciting time.

  Come here is you want to get charged 3000 for a 15min sit down with a law student, very incompetent one, and a about 10 emails from the actual lawyer ... which around 3-4 of those are; "Please note that Xxxx will be away from the office from Friday
