  I went in today not even know what exactly I wanted to do for changing my furniture. The staff were very patient with me and super helpful. I have to say this has been one of the best buying experiences in a very long time!

  We were also told at the store that the delivery people would unpack, and put together all of our furniture. This was a lie as well. The delivery person said that they were not paid to assemble couches.

  I strongly recommend this furniture store. Kind and caring staff when making a purchase like this are very important. They were not pushy sales people like most places.

  The sad part is that this was my second time at Surplus. The first time I had a great experience at the south location. But that one closed down. The salespeople at the NE are pushy, and will lie through their teeth to get commission on anything. If something goes wrong later, they will not take responsibility.

  On top of it, one of the free tables we received with our couch, actually split into two pieces after someone leaned their elbows on it! It was so flimsy, I couldn't believe my eyes.

  Completely unethical business practices. We were told that we could pay for our purchase over 3 months, interest free if we signed up for a credit card. They did not provide us with any paperwork for the credit card company....insisted that it wasn't necessary. It was very fishy. We never received the bills. We called the credit card company after 2 months. They had been given the wrong address. No one bother to call us and ask, despite having mail returned by Canada post. And it turned out the 3 months were only interest free if we paid every single month. This was certainly not communicated to us. It was very upsetting, and quite stressful.

  We went to Surplus last week looking for a bed for my grand daughter. It was myself, my daughter and her kids which are both special needs. A gentleman named Justin helped us. This man was so nice and understanding. He was attentive to our needs and our budget. He was great with the kids, gave them hugs and high fives :-) The other guys there didn't stare at the kids or look at them odd. This place and the employees where great!

  Good deals. Just need to make sure the items you select are good quality or you'll be unsatisfied if you want long lasting furniture.

  Very kind employee's, ended up buying a couch and got side tables for free very nice deal. The prices are get for people with low income. For sure going back when looking to buy again.

  We ended up purchasing a double mattress and box spring. We will definitely be going back for a bedroom suite and possible more!
