  Such great value and all very smooth! Granted it may not be the easiest of places in the city to get to, but myself and my boyfriend managed it easy enough by bus and we saved so much money going through Rent a Wreck. We rented a midsize SUV which was perfect for our trip into the mountains, a very nice clean car with heaps of space. I thoroughly recommend Rent a Wreck, they are very accommodating and dropped us off at YYC airport after we returned the car to them which was very kind!

  If I used them again, which I wouldn't rule out doing, I would go daily unless I was totally sure I needed a week.

  Great customer service - picked up and delivered to airport. Best prices and I am so happy to be supporting a small business owner. I found out that all the other car rental companies are owned by Budget and Enterprise. Also my car started everyday in -30 weather.

  Return early? No refunds! Book for a week, pay for a week. Also, they may not give the car to you totally full of fuel. This place is basically what it says it is, but don't assume they will cut you slack if your needs change.

  My wife and I recently travelled to Jasper and Banff in December 2017. I wanted a car that was safe on the Icefields parkway winter conditions. I rang a number of rental companies in Calgary and Banff and the only person who could guarantee me a car with proper snow tires (not all-season mud and snow tires) was Bill from Rentawreck / practicar. We ended up renting an AWD Mitsubishi Outlander and it was perfect. Safe, reliable (started first go in -27C temps) and fairly economical considering it was a V6 engine. I may be from Australia but I've driven various types of cars (and various tires) on mountain roads and there is no substitute for proper snow tires. AWD helps, but proper tires are key.

  We rented a Ford Escape 2012 from Bill and we had a very good experience with him. The owner is very professional, polite and kind. The pick up and drop off at the Calgary Airport went smoothly and quickly and the price for the two week rental was absolutely unbeatable. He upgraded us to a bigger size vehicle at no extra cost. I can totally recommend the company and would definitely choose him again.

  As for service, Bill picked us up from our airport hotel the morning we arrived and dropped us at the airport when we handed back the car. His service was great and I enjoyed dealing with him as the owner/operator rather than an employee of a big chain rental company who couldn't care less about you.
