I was cold. I was hungry. In my time of need I saw a sign. Fresh mini donuts. There were none. Disappointing.

Not a big fan of zoos so I wasn't here for the animals but rather the zoo lights which is a very fun spot for the family or for a date night. There are multiple fire pits to warm up at along the way as well as stalls to pick up a warm beverage. They have very nifty light up mugs as well you can buy. It's definitely a fun Christmas event. There is a skating rink with rentals available too. Dress warm, get there early to see santa as well in the conservatory building.

This zoo is good and clean but it isn’t as good as it was in the 2000s before the 2011 flood we lost exhibit of South America. Before we loss that exhibits. We lost the Australian exhibit after we loss the night exhibit. But it not all loss as we got the penguins exhibit which is very nice and cool. There are zoo light which I really like. We loss the elephants recently but we got the new pandas as a replacement. There are the new lemur exhibits. I don’t blame the zoo for the loses since the 2011 flood. The zoo just doesn’t have enough money for the recovery.

I have no clue how this Zoo only has a 4.4 rating currently! My wife and I have been to Zoos across the world and Calgary ranks with the very best. The Penguin enclosure alone pus it there! What the Calgary Zoo has done to modify and modernize their enclosures is astounding. It has been a few years in the making, but any new enclosure has blown my mind. THE must-see in Calgary by far.

Changed this review to 1 star. We came in the summer and brought my mom. My mother has moblity issues and is not able to walk far without having to rest. The walk from entrance where you pay to where you rent the scooters does not have a single bench. My mother had to prop herself up on the wall to rest. Also when we arrived the scooters were not available to rent because they were not charged. We did not arrive until noon but it didn't occur to anyone to plug in a single scooter the night before.
