I love this place. Grate food and the press dinner bread and olive oil is 1000% better than all the rest of the locations in town.

Staff are all awesome. The menu is VERY affordable. I would recommend making a reservation before you go. It's a very popular place.

Had dinner early at 5:30pm on Sunday night with my fiancé - we were seated quickly as there were a few tables available as we arrived prior to typical dinner hours. Our waiter brought out the bread and took our orders (did not introduce themselves) and seemed nice enough. The meal we had was fine enough, however not once during our meal did our waiter come out to follow-up on us; not once to fill our water or to see how our meal was. After our meal, approximately 30 minutes later, another waitress came by to take our plates - we waited another 10-15 minutes after that for our original waiter to come by to see if we wanted dessert (we would have liked to have seen the menu soon after our meal). We received very little service compared to what we have experienced at another location in NE Calgary where staff are consistently following up with their tables. We also heard similar comments from the table beside us who mentioned "this was the slowest service they have experienced" at this location.

The staff was great. However the food was mediocre. Desert was great. My main dish was the special which came with a soup or salad. I had the ceaser salad which was great. I also had the veal special with pasta. The veal looked like a frozen dinner and was very cold & the pasta was ok but it was just a garlic & butter sauce on it I could have made it the same at home (& no it doesn't taste like homemade pasta). So I guess it depends on what type of food your going for. (Salads & desert then great!)

I usually get the 'sport' size upgrade so that I get 2 full meals and pack the rest for lunch the next day.

We've been to Chianti's many times over the years, and typically it has been good. The last couple times over the last year our food has been poor, with most people in our group not finishing their meals due to lack of enjoyment of the flavor and texture. We will not be back.
