Beautiful walking trails by the river is an understatement. This is easily one of the best parks in Calgary. The natural springs on the western part of the park that feed the river are a geological marvel. A very spiritual stroll through time.

Bowmont is one of the better parks in Calgary. The city disappears as soon as you drop into the ravine. There are lots of trails to explore that are good for walking, running or biking. There are trails for all ages. My 3 year old could walk them all but my 1 year old had to be carried through some of the steeper bits. You can get all the way down to the river or walk the ridges with good views.

Connected to the river pathway system adds to this park's accessibility. Has an off leash area for the hound dogs.( yes you can bring any breed of dog) has many split off pathways. Using the pathways you can go from Bowmont park to Bowness park. Even to Edworthy park if you have it I you. If your on the bike no problem downtown is easily as pie. The park has a bowl full of flowers during the summer and deer can regularly be seen. My last trip there I sat 5 feet from a doe and her baby. Both happily eating the flowers but always aware. The park also boasts a friesby football coarse.

My fur babies go to. I prefer the North Park and the peninsula off leash areas. Too many low class folks with poorly socialized dogs in the South fenced area. We've had a number of... Incidents with riffraff. The final was when a sweet elderly dog walker was punched in the face by some tribal tattoo sporting, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing troglodyte. Stay away from the South fenced area and you'll have a great time. The idiots aren't smart enough to find the rest of it

A good natural environment along the river. Walk, jog and run or enjoy scenic, there's a well paved path for the visitors.
