Basically: this school has it all, but not on a personable level. Caring more about appearance than quality was very obvious to me.

I recently got a manicure from MC college and decided to upgrade to the gel manicure because I was told it would last longer. Overall, my time there was enjoyable. The student I had was pleasant but she took a long time (my 1 hour appointment ended up being nearly 2 hours and the instructor had to step in to wrap up the appointment). When I got home I noticed that three of my nails either had large bubbles (my first time getting gel nails, but I suspect too much polish was applied and not enough curing time was allowed) or was starting to peel at the edge. I phoned the college to see if anything could be done but nobody answered the phone (this was during business hours) or returned the voicemail I left. A couple days later, the polish on one finger chipped. I sent the college an email and recieved no reply. I understand that this is a learning environment and students will make mistakes. But at the same time, students need to know about their mistakes in order to learn and not continue to make them. I had a coupon for the manicure so I only had to pay for the upgrade but I was extremely disappointed with the quality and the lack of accountability afterwards. It wasn't even worth the $10 I paid because of the time it took and the stress afterwards to remove it.

She then informed me that she needed to call in the head of the school to see what she thinks.

We waited for 15 minutes as I tried to engage in small talk but could clearly feel her discomfort.

She asked me questions and seemed to think I had already made my decision, and told her I hadnt decided yet and was eager for the tour and free service offered after.

After printing out the transcript I felt so humiliated. She proceeded to actually highlight marks and question me on attendance and grades and asking about my personal mental health.

She was aware that I was a 21 year old mature student and qualify no matter what marks I got in highschool.

After going back to the office I was asked which program I would take and I still wasnt sure if I wanted to do Hair or Esthetics yet. She asked me to log in to get my transcript for a head start. My password did not work and I told her I could do it next time or at home, but she encouraged me to choose 'forgot password' which I did. She had me log into my Gmail which I also forgot the password to - probably because I felt nervous at this point which is unlike me. She also encouraged me to change my Gmail password.

On the way back to the office it was mentioned if I had an account to access my transcript, and if I could get started by sending it to them, to which I responded I was not sure, and did not like the unnecessary pressure.

I was not offered my free service and left in tears. Later to realize this helped me make my decision easily.

I was so impressed with the building layout, all the stations, classrooms, supplies. It had everything I was looking for! I then decided I would choose this school or Eveline Charles (where I was treated with so much kindess and respect) and was in a tough spot to choose!

After being disappointed to only finding out your pricing has changed so I couldn't get my style after my hair cut, the student took a very long time..more then 2 hours for just a cut with bangs. I had a picture with which I wanted. Short with layers and textured bangs. I left with my hair super flat and I wasn't listened to at all. They made me put product in my own hair also. The overall haircut doesn't look good at all. My son and daughter who also got a haircut...the way they attempted to cut my son's hair looks very choppy and uneven and not at all how we wanted it (military), my daughter who wanted layers and face framing said it looks choppy and like the bottom layers look 'fake'. We were all excited to have our hair done but left feeling very disappointed.

Went in for a hair cut right above my shoulders with layers. Not only did the student cut it too short, but also did not know how to do layers. The layers are choppy and not blended in at all. Best part about it, she was unsure how to do layers and had told her instructor she was scared to do them. If you hear that make sure you tell someone because there was definitely a reason why she was scared.

As you could guess this did not end well and I was told they would only reconsider me if i re took my highschool Math. This was laughable to me but also so unnessacary for just going for a school TOUR.

I went in delighted for a tour and was in a great mood from my previous interview with EC (also downtown). After waiting, immediately the head teacher had me sit down to fill out an electornic form, and since I tend to be quiet at first I just filled it out, but noticed how strange it was when just going in for a tour.
