    I signed up for a golds membership with golds gym. Then my husband wanted to join at a deal they were offering for family members. A staff said he can offer my husband and I both platinum membership for the golds price over the phone and on text. When we showed up to sign my husband up, he said he had me mixed up with another client and that price is only for corporate clients. Then he told us we are not obligated to sign up even though we showed up. We were taken aback. My husband took time off work to come in for the sign up. Then he said as it was his mistake he will ask the owners if they will make an exception, as he did quote us what he did. Then I had to text him to find out, at which point he said the owners wouldn't budge. Complete disrespect of us and our time. When I contacted another staff to verify this guy isn't bullshitting as he was being shady, the staff first told me the GM had to verify the info with the staff then came back and told me it was the GM that said they could not offer the price the staff quoted us to get us into the club but would offer some discount if we decide to sign my husband up for personal training. Bottom line I didn't ask for the discount, they offered it then they couldn't deliver, just made the whole experience very sour. Gold's gym does not honor the deals their employees quote. Again I wouldn't trust what the staff tell you over the phone or text.

    This gym is what I think about when I think of the perfect gym. It started with the location and knowledge that you get from the trainers here, they are eager to help. I highly recommend Latino guy he's an awesome Instructor.

    The gym is good. I work out in the platinum room most of the time. Anytime I've been in there around 5pm to 10pm the music always keeps me motivated. The only downside to the gym is their general music choice over the PA system. They need more up beat music not ac/dc all the time, they need to appeal to the crowd that goes to the gym more up beat newer music. Also the MAJORITY of the staff are fricking amazing to deal with.*

    They also don't take care of the pool area because of the ring around the hot tub.

    It feels like the place was put together too quickly. Machines seem to be built half fast. Men's locker room is never cleaned. Not sure it's worth getting a platinum card because there isn't a way to hold people accountable.

    Well, first, we didn't know it was already open for months, there was no email or phone call. Second, we went there for the first time, wet sauna wasn't working, no one helped. And the facilities weren't what we were told when they were doing marketing. Have you seen the basketball court? Could you play real basketball in there? Did you see the boxing ring? Right in the middle of the tread mills and no space at all. All of these are understandable, they're not the only facility who would give you the moon and stars to get you sign up, but this, I was told that my credit card didn't work (more than six months after signing up have already passed), but what's incredible is I used the same credit card for my husband, and it worked and has been working since. How come? The card is mine. in my name. I cancelled my membership right away (I phoned after the first visit and didn't return since). After a year, a collection agent sent me a letter that I owe Gold Gym $690.00! For what? I understand maybe the membership (but they should have informed me first, sent me an official letter or email at least). Also, I cancelled after my first and last visit. Bad experience, very bad! I'm filing my complaint to CIU Alberta.
